Our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Ohhhh Mexico! Jay and I went on a wonderful four-day trip to Cabo at the beginning of the month. It was paradise to be away from the winter cold and walking together on the beach. We stayed at a nice all-inclusive resort (yummy food) and did some really fun activities. We went on a Sunset boat cruise, did an outdoor zip line adventure course, went parasailing (Yikes!), and did some exploring of the beaches. Usually I have a hard time leaving the kids and am in a hurry to get home, but I have to admit that we were both reluctant to come home. We went with other couples from Jay's work and also enjoyed getting to know them better. Definitely the best part was that it was FREE!!

Neurofeedback

As if I already didn't have enough to do, I have started driving up to the University of Utah twice a week to do LENS neurofeedback with JT. We are hoping that it will help him focus better. It is an alternative to Ritalin and has pretty good results helping children with ADD and learning disabilities. I am still learning about it and am hopeful that all the driving I am doing will be worth it. JT wasn't a huge fan of the Brain Mapping we did initially, but doesn't mind the treatments. He is hoping that each time he goes that he is "losing a little bit of his autism."

Happy Birthday: Michaela

How does time fly by so quickly? My little Michaela is growing up! She turned seven years old a few weeks ago. She had a birthday party with her friends and also had some special time with Denise and my parents. On the evening of her actual birthday she chose to watch the last episode of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. I think she picked it because she knew how much her brother Zach would love it. She hid under a blanket for a lot of it, but that is just the kind of kid she is. She is a sweetheart and a great help to me with her little sister. We love you, Michaela!

Palmer Christmas Giving

Our family started a great tradition this year and instead of giving gifts to each other we decided to all donate some money to a charity. This year our family got to pick the charity, so we decided to buy gifts and blankets for a Family and Child Crisis Center in town. They told us the need has beed greater than ever as they serve many families who have challenges with abuse, unemployment and domestic problems. The kids thought it was fun to shop for the toys and enjoyed delivering what we bought to the Center. We are looking forward to participating in this new tradition in years to come.
